What is Hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is the condition characterized by abnormally increased sweating/perspiration, in excess of that required for regulation of body temperature. It is associated with a significant quality of life burden from a psychological, emotional, and social perspective. As such, it has been referred to as the 'silent handicap'.
Hyperhidrosis can either be generalized or localized to specific parts of the body. Hands, feet, armpits, and the groin area are among the most active regions of perspiration due to the relatively high concentration of sweat glands. When excessive sweating is localized (e.g. palms, soles, face, underarms, scalp) it is referred to as primary or focal hyperhidrosis. Generalized or secondary hyperhidrosis usually involves the body as a whole and is the result of an underlying condition.
As the sweat glands reside underneath your skin, it is no wonder why topical treatments don't seem to get indderarm sweating under control. PrecisionTx laser procedure goes right to the source, underneath the skin, to safely aplate the underarm sweat glands.
One-time, one hour minimally invasive procedure. Procedure performed in the doctor's office. Minimalo downtime.
How does the PrecisionTx procedure work?
The procedure is done under local anasthesia. Through a small incision, a cannula is inserted under the skin and thermally controlled laser energy is delivered directly to the sweat glands to ablate them.
What does the procedure feel like?
Like any other minimally invasive procedure, you may feel a light pressure during the procedure and some soreness afterwards, which will resolve rapidly. You will be able to return to you normal activities in a few days.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure takes about one hour and is performed in your doctor's office.
PrecisionTx is a one-time minimally invasive laser procedure that treats the source directly!
